Personal touch was lacking for sponsors

IT is that time of the year when football clubs are chasing sponsorship to finance the forthcoming season. Let me tell you of my experience of sponsoring the matchball at my local club, Halesowen Town.
My wife and I had wanted to mark the 10th anniversary of a family member we had lost. I selected a home match against Blyth Spartans last season as it was very close to our anniversary date.
After exchanging emails with the club, I duly paid £50 via Paypal and the club acknowledged the payment.
