BROCKENHURST sealed their Cup progress with a four-goal first-half blitz, allowing them to withstand a brave second-half comeback from Team Solent.
The visitors’ Mark Barker and Mitch Speechley-Price both found the net twice before the break to all-but kill the tie.
However, the hosts’ manager Mike Marsh made several positional changes at the halftime interval and these paid speedy dividend, re-igniting the tie.
Jim Orvis and Jude Nwachukwu scored in the third quarter to halve the visitors’ lead. And Team Solent also hit the bar while missing two more chances.
