BOTH teams had difficulty in coping with the swirling wind.
The best chance of the first half came when Alfie Hilton fed the ball to Matt Price but his shot went over the bar.
Hornchurch applied strong pressure towards the break but could not find the net.
They eventually took the lead when Jay Porter centred and Ross Wall headed home at the far post.
George Purcell was then unlucky with a solo run and shot which came back off the underside of the bar.
