POOLE TOWN progressed to the next round by ending a run of seven winless matches with a win at Step 4 Salisbury.
However, It could have been a very different outcome, as referee Lee Bennan decided not award a late penalty appeal when Chris Shephard was brought down in the area by Jack Smeeton.
With Steve Claridge’s side chasing the game, Dolphins substitute Jez Bedford was allowed space just inside the Whites’ area to fire the ball into the top left corner and kill off the hopes of the home side.
