DANNY Brooks slotted home a late penalty to end Spalding’s FA Cup hoodoo as they squeezed past Wellingborough to earn their first win in any cup competition for two seasons.
Things started well for the home side when Leon Mettam lashed the ball home just before the break.
But any hopes of going in ahead were dashed when Adam Speight levelled in the final minute of the first half. Giuseppe Freitas then gave the visitors a shock lead from the spot.
