ON THE UP: Cray Wanderers celebrate against VCD

A CLUB formed in 2009 has hijacked the history of the first FA Cup winners.
The Wanderers won the first FA Cup in 1872 and on four more occasions before folding in 1883.
The 2009 Wanderers club, as part of a crowdfunding exercise, are claiming to be the oldest club in London – founded in 1857 according to their masthead – and five-times FA Cup winners.
Football historians, however, will hotly dispute this claim. Cray Wanderers, founded in or around 1860, are widely accepted to be London’s oldest football club.
