A TYRONE O’Neill double helped Darlington see off Tamworth to book their place in the first round.
The home side started positively, Ahmed Obeng’s strike well blocked by Terrance Galbraith, but the visitors quickly started to assert themselves.
Adam Campbell curled an effort wide before Darlington went ahead on nine minutes, O’Neill converting Campbell’s cross from close range.
Tamworth responded and Obeng twice had shots blocked by Ben Hedley before Ryan Beswick saw a penalty saved by Liam Connell.
