■ LEWIS Alessandra’s hattrick helped Northern Premier League leaders South Shields thrash hosts Shildon to ease into the third qualifying round.
The 33-year-old former Football League striker broke the deadlock with a fifth-minute cross-shot from keeper Myles Boney’s pass.
