■ A 90TH-MINUTE goal by Spartans’ sub Josh Gillies settled this well-contested tie. Chorley were unable to play with their usual intensity, except for a spell in the second half, largely down to well-organised defence by a hard-working visiting team. Both sides hit the bar from free-kicks in a stoppage-punctuated first half, while Mike Calveley missed a glorious chance to put the hosts in front, heading wide.
