WHITLEY Bay were denied an injury-time winner from the penalty spot, despite Mark Davison sending Whickham keeper Tom Dawson the wrong way from 12 yards. Davison’s spot-kick found the corner of the net, but only after the sub’s rightfooted effort had struck his standing foot, the potential winner rightly chalked off for striking the ball twice.
