■FOR THE first 45 min- Lancing more than  matched their opponents.
Jaevon Dyer on Lancing’s right was causing problems for the Carshalton defence with his pace.
Carshalton were getting forward well but found the Lancing defence hard to break down.
After 36 minutes a pass from Andrew Briggs carved the Carshalton defence open and skipper Alex Laing’s burst of pace saw him latch on to the ball and finish with a low drive past the advancing Willliam Huffer to give the home side the lead.
