AN INSPIRED Billericay Town showing saw them defy the odds, earning a 1-0 home victory over higher opposition in St Albans City after Alfie Cerulli’s 57th-minute strike.
The Blues began brightly, with Ade Azeez and Bradley Stevenson going close with contrasting efforts - one a close-range strike, the other a freekick which looked to be arrowing towards the top corner.
As for the Saints, Shaun Jeffers headed over the crossbar after a clever ball into his path by Dylan Fage before Jeffers missed the target with a similar attempt...
