CHESHAM reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time in seven years with an ultimately comfortable win over their Isthmian League opponents.
Margate’s best chance of the game came in the second minute when fullback Archie Johnson broke away to shoot past the far post.
After that the visitors rarely threatened to score, but neither did Chesham until the 36th minute when they took the lead with a goal that changed the course of the game.
