WINNING a competitive game for the first time since October, 1874 Northwich held off a spirited Stockport Town comeback to win an entertaining encounter at the Sports Village.
A frantic opening ten minutes saw both sides go close – 1874 being off target with several attempts and Stockport forcing two good saves from visiting keeper Mike Shorthouse.
