■ POOLE threw away a two-goal lead and were defeated by a second-half Tom Smith hat-trick.
Poole made a great start with Harvey Slade’s surging run and finish round the keeper. There was a fairly even midfield battle, but Poole looked the more threatening in attack. Tom Hewlett doubled the lead with a neat turn and shot outside the box which went in off a post. Taunton got one back when Poole failed to clear a corner with Smith on hand to bundle the ball in.
