OXFORD CITY’S chances of progression into the next round were temporarily dashed with 15 minutes to go, as referee Carl Brook abandoned the tie due to a waterlogged pitch.
The National League South side had been leading since the 20th minute, when Kabonga Tshimanga scored from an acute angle, with the ball seeming to bounce in off the shin of the back-pedalling Alfie Kilgour.
Chances were at a premium as conditions deteriorated. Craig Fasanmade’s drilled shot from the right of the area was blocked by a sliding Rene Steer in the 32nd minute.
