WARE came into this tie on a 14 win streak, while hosts Leatherhead were on the back of three league wins and a midweek county cup victory.
The difference in the teams was shown when the hosts put the visitors on the back foot straight away, opening the scoring in the second minute.
A cross from Will Salmon was poorly defended and the ball found Tommy Wood at the far post for him to slot home. Leatherhead extended their lead through Ibrahim Olutade in the 18th minute after a through ball from Eddie Dsane was put past the keeper.
