OXFORD City and Hornchurch will need to battle again for a place in the first round after a hardfought draw at Marsh Lane.
City had the better of the opening chances as Jenson Wright and Kyran Lofthouse both forced saves from the keeper.
And on 15 minutes, Nana Owusu put City ahead as he converted a Jack Self cross at the far post, finishing on a tight angle.
Hornchurch drew level on 30 minutes as Rickie Hayles headed a free-kick across goal and into the far corner.
