JASON BARNES’ goal was enough to send Pickering through.
Trafford dominated the first half and had a handful of good chances, one of which being a shot to force a goal-line clearance from Pickering defender Jack Johnson.
Pickering were unlucky not to take the lead themselves with Soni Fergus forcing two good saves from Trafford keeper Matt Cooper.
Pickering managed to break the deadlock after 60 minutes with Cooper parrying a shot from Jake Watson into the path of midfielder Barnes who slotted it home.
