McGRATH’S BRACE DENTS POOR STEELS

WIDNES emerged triumphant after a brace from John McGrath helped them to beat Stocksbridge Park Steels.
McGrath’s first came after ten minutes and had a hint of good fortune as a deflected helped it to beat Ed Hall in the Steels net.
The second in the 80th minute was definitely not down to luck. The forward ran the length and width of the pitch before hitting a powerful finish which went into the bottom corner of the net.
Stocksbridge had a lot of the ball inbetween those goals, but struggled to make clear-cut scoring opportunities.
