RUNCORN Linnets repeated their 2-1 win at Workington in the previous round to make further progress in the FA Trophy.
The Linnets scored either side of half-time with North Shields’ reply coming with just three minutes left on the clock.
The visitors had rarely threatened until they forged ahead after 37 minutes when Lewis Doyle curled a beauty into the top corner of the Robins net.
Callum Elliot then saved from Sidi Fofana but could not prevent Jamie Rainford from making it two nine minutes into the second period.
