■ OLIVER Metcalfe opened the scoring for Ossett after
11 minutes, finding himself space 25 yards out and a low, hard strike into the bottom left put his side in front.
Runcorn replied after 25 minutes when winger Zack Clarke was gifted the opportunity to cross after an awkward bounce. The cross found Rainford, who was met with a phenomenal save by Hall only for the rebound to be tapped home by Gumbs.
The second half was a feisty affair with both sides making some strong challenges throughout the half.
