BELPERTOWN’S record of never having won more than two FA Trophy games in a season continued after they were second best against Walsall Wood.
The NPL Division One East League leaders started as favourites and could have taken the lead when top scorer Kevin Bastos had his close-range shot saved by Brendan Dunn.
The visitors soon took the lead after confusion in the Belper defence saw Sam Unitt take full advantage after 20 minutes.
