THIS tie was billed as a Close Encounter of the Third Round Kind between two sides with very similar league records and impressive recent form, and so it proved.
Horsham had much the better of the first half and were well worth the interval lead given them by skipper Jack Brivio from James Hammond’s devilish free-kick.
However, a side that had scored a total 40 league goals this season in just 16 games was never going to go quietly and Totton came out for the second half with renewed determination.
