SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was left bitterly disappointed following his side’s FA Trophy defeat to Hampton &Richmond at Roots Hall.
The Shrimpers conceded twice late on to draw 2-2 after 90 minutes before losing 4-2 on penalties.And Maher was a frustrated figure at the final whistle.
“I’m disappointed we ended up in the penalty shoot-out in a game we were in complete control of,” said Maher.
