BOOTLE blew a 3-1 lead as they crashed crash out on penalties.
The visitors started well, but Elliot Morris’ 18thminute long-range free-kick bounced over debutant Damien Eastham and into the net.
Jay Cooper headed against a post for Bootle, before Mackenzie O’Neil tapped in a rebound from a Jack Lenehan free-kick.
After the break, City of Liverpool were awarded a penalty after a handball by Cooper, but Eastham made a fantastic save.
