EMLEY’s first adventure in the FA Trophy for 25 years ended in home defeat as Newton Aycliffe put them to the sword.
The visitors took the lead just before the half-time break when captain Ethan Wood squared the ball to Dean Thexton, who blasted the ball past Emley goalkeeper Declan Lambton.
Thexton got his second of the game after 66 minutes when he was in a great position to fire the ball in from close range after some great build-up play by his teammates.
