■FOUR-TIME FA Vase winners Whitley Bay needed an extra-time equaliser to earn a replay on Tuesday at Hillheads.
Bay, who won a hat-trick of titles between 2009-11, led on the half hour through Scott Jasper’s header from Tom Potter’s cross – the first effort at goal in the game.
Synners Polish goalkeeper Adrian Beblowski then saved from Potter and Josh Nearney, the first half a drab affair.
The second was better, Bay midfielder Thibault Charmey inches wide and Alex Kempster shooting just over.
