Storks deliver in West End clash

DANNY Smith’s early header was the difference between the two sides as Padiham ended Sunderland West End’s first FA Vase campaign. Padiham were the brighter of the two sides in the first half and almost scored in the first couple of minutes.
Luke Taylor’s delivery was nearly turned in for an own goal by Sunderland defender Reece Thompson, the hosts relieved to see the deflection bounce wide.
Smith then opened the scoring for the visitors when he rose highest to convert an Adam Morning corner in the ninth minute.
