BRACES from centre-back Jack Dickinson and substitute Rob McCartney either side of Callum Birdsall’s effort ruthlessly fired Northern League Division One outfit Carlisle City to victory over Longridge Town.
The North West Counties League Premier Division visitors briefly made it 3-1 through Dean Ing’s penaltybut were eventually well beaten in Cumbria.
The Sky Blues made a promising start. Callum Birdsall hit the bar shortly before the 20-minute mark and it wasn’t long until Dickinson got Carlisle off the mark.
