CLARIDGE QUITS

FORMER Premier League striker Steve Claridge has resigned as manager of Wessex League outfit Fleetlands for personal reasons.
The former Leicester City and Portsmouth striker-turned-pundit, 58, is a friend of Coptermen chairman Iain Sellstom and joined the club as boss last July.
A statement confirmed Claridge had “regrettably” stepped down with immediate effect.
“The club would like to place on record our huge thanks to Steve for taking up the role in our hour of need and taking us to a fantastic fifth place finish last season.”
