CANVEY took full advantage of their man advantage to run out winners at Merstham, as both sides remain too close to the bottom four for comfort.
Merstham’s Marc Okoye saw red on 25 minutes and it was an uphill task for the Moatsiders thereafter.
Okoye had already been cautioned when he was played into trouble by a suicidal pass and clipped Canvey’s George Sykes.
While Merstham were re-organising, Canvey took the lead, Frank Merryfield finding the bottom corner in the 27th minute.
