■ CANVEY snatched a vital away point as two of the league’s in-form teams contested an exciting draw.
Staines made an excellent start, and when Max Worsfold’s teasing cross was swept into the net by Mo Bettamer from close range on eight minutes, they perhaps hoped to repeat their 6-0 win on the Island in November.
