HYTHE succumbed to a last-gasp equaliser.
Whyteleafe had a golden opportunity when Tyler Brown headed over when it seemed easier to hit the target. The rest of the half passed without incident.
Hythe broke the deadlock on 75 minutes when a Ben Wilson free-kick was neatly headed home by Craig Cloke.
Whyteleafe threatened to get back into the game as Olumide Oluwatimilehin shot straight at Joe Mant from 20 yards. Then, three minutes from time, a Bentley Graham corner was headed over by John Scarborough.
