DESPITE the scoreline it was the Hornchurch defence that took the honours.
In the second half they withstood five successive Phoenix corners and goalkeeper Sam Mott saved a penalty.
Hornchurch took an early lead through Abs Seymour, who converted a cross from Sam Bantick, but Theo Fairweather- Johnson headed an equaliser from a Dajon Golding centre.
Leon McKenzie put Hornchurch back in front a minute later and the hosts went further ahead when Kenzer Lee headed home from a Seymour corner.
