EX-IMP Alex Simmons notched a double as Gainsborough Trinity brushed aside a young Lincoln City side in the Lincolnshire County Cup.
Simmons opened the scoring three minutes in, powering past Michael Antkowiak after he found space in the area.
City were then aggrieved to have not been awarded a penalty when Dec O’Hare appeared to be fouled in the area.
National League North side Gainsborough doubled their advantage on the half-hour when Ashley Worsfold scored from the spot.
