AN own goal and a Leon Scott goal from six yards out was enough to get Darlington’s pre-season up and running against Bishop Auckland.
Darlo had an opportunity wasted on the half hour mark, as Josh Gillies blasted his penalty over, after David Syers was pushed in the box.
The Quakers took the lead as new signing James Caton’s cross was bundled over the line three minutes later, by a combination of Bishops keeper Tom Dawson and Michael Hoganson.
