DONCASTER were certainly made to work for their slender victory at Guiseley.
It was an even start, with both team’s defences holding up well.
The hosts nearly took the lead on 15 minutes when forward Reece Thompson ran onto a weak pass back by Craig Alcock but his effort was well saved by Marko Marosi.
With 18 minutes gone Doncaster took the lead when Liam Mandeville was in the right place to round Guiseley keeper Jonny Maxted who had just parried a shot and put the ball into an empty net.
