BLYTH SPARTANS kick-started their pre-season campaign ahead of life in the National League North with an impressive victory over Middlesbrough.
First half goals from Dan Maguire and Robbie Dale gave the home side a two goal cushion at the break.
Summer signing Dale Hopson added another from the spot scoring his first goal for the club, before Jordan Laidler added a fourth just before the hour mark.
