■ CHAMPIONSHIP side Bolton Wanderers edged home past a dogged FC United side at a rain soaked Broadhurst Park. The home side came closest to scoring in the opening exchanges with Danny Wisdom playing a one-two with Connor McCarthy, Jake Turner pushing the shot by Wisdom past the post.
The deadlock was broken on the half hour when the FC offside trap was beaten, the ball being crossed to a trailist who finished well past Lloyd Allinson.
The Reds almost equalised just before half time but a long-range Nathan Lowe shot was saved by Turner.
