CHESTER wrapped up their pre-season campaign with an impressive performance against a full-strength Port Vale side – and with a little more incision in front of goal the National League outfit could easily have won this competitive clash.
Chester assistant boss Tom Shaw was naturally upbeat following the game, saying: “It was a great test for us, they had a strong squad out and the way we competed was encouraging.
“We have a number of young players in our squad and I thought they did extremely well today against a good side.”
