ASHFORD United earned a battling point against Whyteleafe.
It was second-bottom United who took the early lead, with Tyrell Richardson- Brown finding the net after just 12 minutes.
But Whyteleafe, who lost their manager Leigh Dynan last week week when he left to take charge of Kingstonian, gradually worked their way back into the game.
The breakthrough arrived on the stroke of half-time when the visitors won a penalty and Sam Clayton stepped up to convert.
