PAINTING A GOOD PICTURE AT HEMEL

THERE have been a lot of ground improvements in recent seasons at Hemel Hempstead Town as the club has grown, off and on the field. There remains this curio on a perimeter wall, though, letterbox, number and all.
Now it is undoubtedly there as access to neighbouring land to retrieve stray balls. But whenever I visit, it makes me wonder about its history and whether there is a nearby No. 14 missing a door.
And that warning about anti-vandalism paint… On the inside of the ground? Are they trying to warn people about trying to escape a bad match?
