Florence deserve credit, not digs

I MUST take issue with the letter sent in by Ron White (Fans’ Forum, June 9).
He was ridiculing Florence FC and its players for the team name and their playing record, which is totally uncalled for.
They finished bottom the previous season and wanted to be relegated but Staffordshire FA in their wisdom said no and kept them in the Premier Division, hence the results.
The manager should have been awarded Manager of the Season and the players should be proud of themselves.
To their credit, they kept going, despite the results, when other teams would have taken the easy way out and folde...
