ALFRETON picked up after their pre-season opener against Nottingham Forest by welcoming another Football League side in Walsall.
The Reds continued their competitive streak and gave the Saddlers a hard time in the first half, despite the visitors taking the lead early on. An Alfie Bates free-kick was flicked on towards Elijah Adebayo, who used his height to his advantage, nodding comfortably past Tom Nicholson in the Alfreton goal.
