BROMLEY ended their pre-season campaign with a disappointing home loss to Charlton U23s.
A James Vennings penalty three minutes from time sealed the win for Charlton following a resolute defensive display.
Neil Smith’s Bromley open their National League campaign with a long trip to Chorley on Saturday. They will hope for more luck in front of goal than in this game.
An inspired first half performance from Charlton keeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer had kept the scores level going into the break giving Charlton a platform to build on in the second half.
