NATIONAL League new- By Phil Brennan comers Stockport County completed a near-perfect pre-season as first half goals from Ash Palmer and Sam Walker gave Jim Gannon’s team a comfortable victory at Boundary Park against League Two outfit Oldham Athletic.
The visitors took control of the game as early as the fourth minute as skipper Palmer rose above a static defence to head home Walker’s precise corner kick.
Within minutes Dan Cowan almost doubled the Hatters’ lead as he headed goal wards from another Walker corner kick.
