Heed inflict first loss in 8
GATESHEAD inflicted a first defeat in eight games on Altrincham in a superb game on Tyneside. This was Conference North football at it’s best as two good sides slugged it out. Altrincham flew out of the traps and were dominant at the start of both halves only to be repelled by the end of both.
Gateshead got a foothold in the game and then hit top gear in the final half hour. Toby Mullarkey was just wide for the Robins and then Andy White headed off the line at the other end. Jake Moult saw his header ruled out for offside and all this in the opening 10 min...
