Opposites attract in changes to fi xtures

I WOULD like to offer an explanation to Mr Sanderson’s letter regarding fixture clashes in the last edition (Fans’ Forum, February 9).
I was the Fixture Secretary for the North West Counties Football League for 14 years before leaving at the end of the 2017-18 season due to pressure from the league.
Each season, clubs provided me with information about themselves on a Fixture Questionnaire and I then proceeded to produce the fixtures by hand taking into account the information which includes who, if anybody, they wished to be paired opposite.
