DUNSTON floundered against higher-ranked opposition as League Two Hartlepool cruised to victory on Tyneside.

Pools had lost at Spennymoor, Gateshead and Blyth but book-ended their pre-season campaign with big wins.
Dave Challinor’s men had the game won by half-time, Fele Olomona with the opener from Josh MacDonald’s cross.
Michael Pearson chipped over for Dunston before MacDonald was again the provider as Mark Shelton’s low drive beat Liam Connell in the home goal.
